Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Partners with Savannah Technical College
Savannah , GA, February 21, 2007 -- The Savannah campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide has signed an articulation agreement with Savannah Technical College (STC) in Savannah, Georgia that will allow students to enroll concurrently with STC and Embry-Riddle and to transition seamlessly into a four-year degree at Embry-Riddle. The articulation agreement was signed on February 21, 2007 by officials from both educational institutions. This agreement allows graduates with an associate of applied technology in accounting to transfer 57 credits toward an Embry-Riddle bachelor of science in technical management degree (BSTM). The BSTM curriculum, to be delivered at STC, was developed to give students the skills to marshal the resources of any organization toward its goals. Over the course of this program, students learn to organize, plan, staff and coordinate physical assets as well as personnel. "The agreement provides an excellent opportunity for greater Savannah area students to locally earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in technical management or aviation and aerospace from a world class university,” said Jeffrey Hayes, Embry-Riddle’s director of academics for the Savannah campus. “By earning a bachelor’s degree that complements their technical training, students can enhance their marketability and create additional career opportunities,” added Hayes. “Embry-Riddle’s undergraduate and graduate faculty in Savannah are experts in aviation and aerospace, having distinguished themselves with careers and doctorates in the field.” “Savannah Technical College is very pleased to enter into this partnership with Embry Riddle,” said C. B. Rathburn, III, president of STC. “In today’s marketplace, employers are looking for talented individuals with the right skill set to be successful. For our students, this partnership represents an opportunity for them to gain additional skills to further their career success. We expect broad participation.” Savannah Tech, the region’s leading provider of market-driven, quality technical education, has been meeting the needs of its community for three-quarters of a century.
