Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Signs Strategic Alliance with Army Logistics Management College

Huntsville, Ala., Aug. 8, 2007 – The Huntsville campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide signed a memorandum of understanding forging a strategic alliance with the Army Logistics Management College (ALMC) that will allow qualified students to pursue a Master of Science degree at Embry-Riddle.

The agreement was signed Aug. 6, 2007, by Col. Shelly Richardson, ALMC commandant, Dr. John Watret, vice chancellor of academic affairs and worldwide operations for Embry-Riddle Worldwide. The graduate degree programs will be available to all U.S. Army personnel enrolled in the ALMC who have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and meet the specified prerequisites and grade and admissions requirements, and have been admitted to one of the Embry-Riddle programs.

“This is a great opportunity for our military and DOD civilian students who may choose to pursue their advanced degrees where they can access the Embry-Riddle master’s degree curricula,” said Richardson.

Students may transfer up to 12 semester hours of acceptable graduate credit earned in ALMC courses recommended by the American Council on Education’s “Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services” in the graduate degree category. All transferred credit must be less than seven years old at the time of the student’s graduation from Embry-Riddle. The acceptability of specific courses to a degree program is determined by the program/department chair of that degree program. Students, who have up to seven years to complete their degree, are subject to the degree completion requirements of Embry-Riddle.

“Student success and customer service are our highest priorities,” said Christy Fordham, director of academic support for the Huntsville campus. “We will sit down with prospective students to assess their individual requirements and determine what they need to pursue to complete their chosen programs.”

Embry-Riddle Worldwide’s Huntsville campus is located at 3222 Snooper Road on Redstone Arsenal, Ala. Classes are held on location in the evenings and are also available online. Campus staff can assist students with program information and admission and enrollment matters. Individuals interested in applying to local center programs can contact the Embry-Riddle Worldwide Campus in Huntsville at huntsville.center@erau.edu or (256) 876-9763.
