 |
Embry-Riddle is the world's oldest, largest, and most prestigious university specializing in aviation and aerospace. The curriculum at Embry-Riddle covers the operation, engineering, research, manufacturing, marketing, and management of modern aircraft and the systems that support them. The University engages in extensive research, consulting, and related activities that address the unique needs of aviation, aerospace, and related industries. Residential campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Prescott, Arizona, provide education in a traditional setting, while an extensive network of more than 100 teaching centers throughout the United States and Europe and a Web-based distance learning program serve civilian and military working adults.
ADMISSION POLICY
The process of applying for admission to the Extended Campus begins at a resident center or the Distance Learning Enrollment Office. Term dates vary at each resident center location. Applicants may apply for admission and concurrently enroll while their application for admission is being processed.
To be considered for admission, all applicants must: 1) complete & sign an Extended Campus Application for Admission form, and 2) provide the application fee of $50. Fees are non-refundable. Other requirements for admission are determined by the degree you are pursuing.
Undergraduate Admissions: The Extended Campus offers admission to non-traditional applicants only. Applicants must provide transcripts or appropriate evidence of graduation from high school or the equivalent and provide evidence of employment and/or life experience that reasonably predict their ability to satisfactorily progress in a degree program. Students must arrange to have all official transcripts submitted to the University for each accredited institution attended.
Transfer Students must have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 at the last institution attended and a combined CGPA of 2.0 for all institutions attended to acquire admission to the University.
Awarding Credit Persons who qualify for admission and matriculate in their respective degree program are eligible for credit for prior learning, i.e., transfer credit from other accredited institutions or advanced standing credit for previous work and/or training experience. All credentials must be submitted to the Admissions, Records and Registration office by resident center personnel or the Distance Learning Enrollment Office. The American Council on Education (ACE) publishes the Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experience in the Armed Services and the National Guide to Education Credit for Training Programs. The University normally follows the recommendations of the Council for the award of credit, including the level of credit granted, based on successful completion of non-collegiate training programs, service schools, or possession of military occupational specialties. The applicability of credit for service schools, possession of military occupational specialties, or non-collegiate training programs is evaluated on a course-by-course basis. Credit recommendations in more than one of the categories specified by the Council (i.e., lower division, upper division, and graduate) may be combined toward a degree if the recommendations are in different subject areas. Duplicate credit will not be granted when the recommendations in two or more categories are in the same subject area. Credits will be granted for specific courses when the title and description of the courses recommended in the Guides can be correlated to ERAU courses. In the absence of specific course recommendations applicable to the University curricula, the credits will be accepted as electives in the recommended discipline (e.g., Management electives), or to satisfy open electives.
Undergraduate Programs: Transfer credit completed at another institution with a grade of "A," "B," "C," "D," "P," or equivalent is accepted.
Transcribing Transfer and Advanced Standing Credit Transfer and advanced standing credit is transcribed only after the following actions have been completed:
1. The student has submitted a completed, signed and dated Application for Admission form, paid the application fee and been admitted. 2. The Extended Campus Admissions, Records & Registration office has received the admission packet. 3. The student matriculates by enrolling in an Embry-Riddle course offered in a term concurrent with receipt of the application fee or by enrolling in a term which starts no later than one year after the date of the acceptance letter. 4. The student is in continuing student status. Matriculated students are eligible for an updated academic evaluation one year from the initial date, after which matriculated students may request one updated evaluation per year. Transcripts and other documentation submitted for the student during the year will be held for inclusion in the yearly update.

After the application packet is complete, the applicants' educational credentials are evaluated.
