Frequently  Asked  Questions

What is Online Learning?

Online Learning is an instructional method that affords students who cannot attend the traditional classroom to complete a degree program online. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University utilizes the Blackboard based electronic classroom to support students. This platform is accessible from any location on the globe that offers Internet connectivity.  In our distance learning courses you will be part of a "virtual" class and will access this class via a secure course specific Web site. In your "virtual" class, you will have access to a course instructor who will be available to you throughout the course. You will communicate with your instructor and classmates by way of an asynchronous threaded discussion forum. You will be able to log-on to retrieve messages, assignments, post replies, ask questions, and submit course work. You are not required to be online at the same time as your instructor or classmates.

What are the costs involved?

How will the students know where to go on the Web and how do they find out their access data?

An account for Blackboard, ERNIE and ERAU E-mail will be issued to each Undergraduate student upon registration for their first course at ERAU - Worldwide plus any applicants to a Master's Degree program at the time they apply.
