 Campus & Community Information:

Campus Location

China Lake is located approximately 150 miles north of Los Angeles. The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake site continues to be the major source of employment for Ridgecrest residents. The City of Ridgecrest, with a population of more than 26,0000 people, is Kern County's third largest city. The City and the Navy are neighbors who benefit from the advantages both bring to the community. Today the spirit-of-the-community extends to residents both on and off the base. The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University role in the community has evolved since 1994, first as a teaching site of Ft. Irwin; then Edwards AFB, and as of November 1, 2002, becoming the China Lake Campus. We serve the educational needs of the military, civilians and defense contractors employed at China Lake and the surrounding communities. Office hours are Monday through Friday (except FLEX Friday) from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Choosing Embry-Riddle at China Lake

Our students come to us from the diverse population of military aviation personnel. They are highly trained, experienced men and women holding positions such as A&P mechanic, air traffic controller, airport operations specialist, and military pilot. You will learn from the professors and you will also learn from your experienced classmates. Embry-Riddle will help you complete your degree, no matter how many times you move, where you move, or how often your work schedule changes. ERAU has over 130 Campuses located in the United States and Europe. No entrance exams are required for our undergraduate and graduate programs. Classes are conveniently held in the evenings in comfortable, modern facilities. ERAU will accept transfer credit from several sources including military training, federal licensing, and prior post-secondary institutions. You are considered a "full time" student by enrolling in only 2 undergraduate classes or 1 graduate class in any 9 week term. You will receive maximum VA or Financial Aid benefits while enrolled. ERAU will allow you to defer a large part of the tuition cost until the end of the term without a deferment fee. Our Campus allows you easy access and fast response to your questions and advisement needs, without the need for scheduling an appointment. Just come on by! Federal Aviation Administration licenses can earn you as much as 25% of the credit hours required for a 4 year Bachelor of Science degree.
