The large classrooms accommodate 30 students each, with one of the rooms incorporating an on-site hard copy library with one microcomputer for on-line research, and the other incorporationg a small computer lab of five microcomputers for student use. The small classroom accommodates 15 students, and the conference room, which can double as a classroom accoummodates 13 students. All of the classrooms contain a LCD projection system, TV, and a VCR. The entire facility has a wireless network infrastructure with access to the Internet via a DSL connection.

History of the Campus

The Orlando Metro Campus was established in February 1997 with the intent to focus on the civilian market for Embry-Riddle Extended Campus programs. The original campus was centrally located on Colonial Drive near Interstate 4 and downtown Orlando. As the enrollments grew over the next few years, the decision was made to move to larger quarters in the East Winter Park area, and the campus relocated in May 2000. The location chosen was at 5478 Lake Howell Road in the Shoppes of Interlachen Shopping Center. In late 2003, the decision was made to open the first Embry-Riddle Metro Campus in Orlando.
