Occupational Safety and Health Specialty

Creating and maintaining a safe work environment and protecting workers from hazards has become a critical issue in nearly every industry. The Occupational Safety and Health Specialty was developed to prepare students for supervisory or management positions relating to occupational safety and health in environmental compliance, ergonomics, industrial hygiene and toxicology, construction, fire protection and systems design. This program is geared toward students who are seeking new opportunities in the public or private sector such as service or manufacturing industries, local, state, or federal agencies, and the military.

To earn the Technical Management degree with an Occupational Safety & Health Specialty, degree-seeking students must complete the electives, as listed in the catalog, and satisfy the Occupational Safety and Health Specialty requirements as listed below.
