Department of Business Administration

Dr. Carlton is Chair, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide's Department of Business Administration.  He is a former U.S. Air Force Officer with extensive aviation operational experience in the F-4 and F-15.  Dr. Carlton served in Vietnam as well as implementing the operational plan in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Following his military career, Dr. Carlton served as Vice President of Human Resources at Bio-Tech Services Company, Inc. and currently as a tenured professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Dr. Carlton has continued to refine and develop his work in his core area of expertise: leadership in the aviation and aerospace industry.

In addition to serving as the Chair of the Department of Business Administration, Dr. Carlton is a Senior Human Resource Manager and Consultant with a broad range of experience. His dissertation on Leadership was supported by Center for Leadership Studies in Escondido, California. He is an expert in strategic and operational planning and is highly experienced in international operations, employee relations, safety, and organizational development.

Dr. Carlton was a South Carolina finalist for Human Resource Professional of the Year and selected as the Sumter Human Resource Management Association Professional of the Year. He was also selected as President of the Sumter Human Resource Management Association and appointed as a District Director for the South Carolina State Society of Human Resource Management.

Dr. Carlton is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Senior Member of American Society for Quality (ASQ).
