Summer Academy

Flight Exploration

Alpha: June 8 to June 12 (No Campus Housing)*
Bravo: July 12 to July 18
Charlie: August 2 to August 8

Developed for students ages 12 to 18, Flight Exploration is a structured introduction to flying and flight training. Participants learn how to follow VFR (visual flight rules) procedures, how to read weather conditions, and how to comply with aviation regulations. This hands-on practical experience will help students explore and plan their aviation career paths. All Flight Exploration students must obtain a Class II Medical prior to submitting an application.

Tuition for the Flight Exploration Bravo and Charlie camps is $2,700 and includes supervised housing, on-campus meals, flight fees, flight instruction, ground lab instruction, flight materials, books, and field trips.  Advance Registration discount of $200 is applied to all complete application packets received by April 10, 2009.

* Flight Exploration Alpha is a nonresidential camp. Students arrive on campus at 7:45 a.m. and are picked up at 5:00 p.m. each day. The tuition is $2,150 and includes on-campus meals (breakfast and lunch), flight fees, flight instruction, ground lab instruction, flight materials, books, and field trips.  Advance Registration discount of $200 is applied to all complete application packets received by April 10, 2009.
