The unit staff is comprised of active duty officers and non-commissioned officers who are stationed at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Their jobs include overseeing all battalion functions, teaching naval science classes, and guiding the midshipmen to success.
As a result of NROTC Unit ERAU's recent establishment, the overall role of the unit staff has changed dramatically over a short period of time. The unit was established in the Fall of 2003. At that time, the unit staff played a deeply integral role in all aspects of the midshipmen battalion. Since then much has been accomplished on behalf of the midshipmen, who now run the battalion with a high level of autonomy. The unit staff now serve as guides to aid the midshipmen in developing strong leadership skills and the organizational and character traits to ensure the success of each midshipman throughout college, their career in the Navy and Marine Corps, and their lives.
