Battalion Clubs

Our battalion has lots to offer for midshipmen who want to get involved in extracurricular activities.  Our clubs and specialized platoons within the battalion allow midshipmen to do everything from exploring future career opportunities, to playing instruments as part of the band, to seeing air shows and talking to Navy and Marine Corps pilots.

NUCLEAR POWER AND SURFACE WARFARE CLUB
Welcome to the Surface Warfare Club! If you want to become a SWO (Surface Warfare Officer) or are just interested in shipboard operations then this club is for you. Meetings will be held every other week to increase your knowledge about Naval Surface Warfare. We will be discussing a wide variety of topics from navigation to damage control!

AVIATION WARFARE
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is second only to the U.S. Naval Academy in producing naval aviation officers. This is a remarkable achievement, considering that the University did not have an NROTC Unit until 2003.  Recently for service selection, all 1/C Midshipmen received their first choice, the Aviation community.

BLOODSTRIPE SOCIETY
The Bloodstripe Society is an association whose purpose is to maintain the camaraderie, esprit de corps and sense of purpose that identifies them as Marines. Those people who are familiar with the Marine Corps are aware that Marines share a common background of adherence to standards, mission accomplishment and resolve in the face of adversity.

SPECIAL WARFARE
The Naval Special Warfare Club is meant to allow midshipmen to get together and learn more about the SEAL and EOD communities.  Weekly meetings revolve around educating the midshipmen in the history of Special Warfare/Operations and also how to get into the communities.  Within the club, a SEAL Challenge team is training to compete in a competition against other NROTC units around the state.  The ultimate goal of the club is to prepare midshipmen for a potential career in Naval Special Warfare Operations.

DRILL TEAM
The ERAU NROTC Unit Drill Team provides an outlet for all members of the Battalion to practice on their drill and marching skills.
In an effort to foster interest and show off the abilities of its members, the Drill Team also pursues competition drill events throughout the year, most notably the International NROTC Drill Competition at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

BAND
Our band includes other service members from Air Force and Army ROTC of ERAU, as well as our own Midshipmen.  Our future expectations include playing for any on- or off-campus events and expand to cover varieties of ROTC functions.

COLOR GUARD
What performance or ceremony would be complete without a crisp color guard performance beforehand to kick things off?
ERAU's NROTC Color Guard performs such presentations for a variety of groups and events, both on- and off-campus.
Notable among these have been functions for the local chapter of the Navy League, as well as joint presentations with the Army and Air Force for the University's graduation ceremonies and Daytona 500/NASCAR racing events.
