Captain Alan Moore

Captain Alan R. Moore is a native of Ottawa, Kan., and was commissioned an Ensign in December 1979 from the University of Kansas NROTC program where he graduated with a BSB in Business Administration.

His first assignment was in San Diego, Calif., aboard USS Denver (LPD 9) where he earned his Surface Warfare and Engineering Officer qualifications. He then served as Executive Officer aboard USS Esteem (MSO 438). 

Capt. Moore's other sea tours include a department head tour as Chief Engineer aboard USS PEORIA (LST 1183) and as Logistics and Material Officer for Amphibious Squadron Five. During this time, the PHIBRON participated in a ten-month deployment as the advanced force Amphibious Ready Group for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  Capt. Moore also served as Executive Officer aboard USS Juneau (LPD 10), forward deployed to Sasebo, Japan, as Operations Officer for Amphibious Squadron Eleven, and as Commanding Officer of USS Frederick (LST 1182).

Capt. Moore's shore tours include duty as type desk officer for fleet oilers and tugs with Military Sealift Command, and Training Officer for COMNAVSURFPAC where he was a contributing author for the initial Surface Force Training Manual.

Capt. Moore attended the Naval War College earning a Master's degree in International and Strategic Studies, and his post command tours were as the Pacific Desk Officer for the Deputy Director for Information Operations in the J3 Directorate of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and as the Deputy Commander for  Task Force 76 in Sasebo, Japan.

Capt. Moore's awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with gold star, the Navy and Marine Commendation Medal with four stars, and various service and unit awards.

Commander Joseph H. Boener reported to Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Navy, Daytona Beach, Florida in July 2006 as the Executive Officer.

Commander Boener graduated with a degree in Oceanography from the United States Naval Academy in May 1986.  Following commissioning, he reported to Pensacola, FL for flight training and received his designation as a Naval Flight Officer in November 1987.  After attending Electronic Warfare School, he reported to the EA-6B Fleet Replacement Squadron, NAS Whidbey Island, Wash., in April 1988, and graduated in December 1988. 

Commander Boener joined the VAQ-139 "COUGARS" in December 1988.  During this tour, he worked as the Communications Officer, Aircraft Branch Officer, Aircraft Division Officer, 1st Lieutenant, and Personnel Officer.  While assigned to VAQ-139, the squadron completed two deployments to the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans and was involved in Operation DESERT SHIELD.

In December 1991, he reported to Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Calif., where he graduated with a master of science degree in Physical Oceanography in March 1994.  Following graduate school, he reported to the USS INDEPENDENCE (CV 62) home ported in Yokosuka, Japan, as a Tactical Action Officer.  Returning to NAS Whidbey Island and the Fleet Replacement Squadron in November 1996, he requalified in the EA-6B and reported to the VAQ-128 pre-commissioning detachment in June 1997. 

After standing up the "FIGHTING PHOENIX" in October 1997 as the Administration Officer, he was assigned as the Electronic Warfare Officer for the squadron's inaugural deployment to Prince Sultan Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which included participation in Operations SOUTHERN WATCH and DESERT FOX.  While assigned to VAQ-128, the squadron made two additional deployments, one back to Saudi Arabia and one to Incirlik, Turkey, in support of Operation NORTHERN WATCH.  Commander Boener completed this tour with duties as the Operations Officer and Maintenance Officer.

In July 2000, he reported to the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Marine Corps University, Quantico, Va.  He graduated in June 2001 with a master's degree in Military Studies.  Following a three-month deployment to augment the HQ staff of Joint Task Force Southwest Asia in Saudi Arabia, he reported to Naval Space Command in Dahlgren, Va.

Reporting to Naval Space Command in October 2001, he assumed duties as Operations Division Deputy Director.  Following the establishment of Naval Network and Space Operations Command, formed by the merger of Naval Space Command and Naval Networks Operations Command on July 12, 2002, he transitioned to the Special Technical Operations Branch as the Branch Head.  In July 2003 he assumed position of the Chief Staff Officer until detaching in April 2004.

In April 2004, Commander Boener reported to the staff of Commander SIXTH Fleet Gaeta, Italy, as the Fleet Air Exercises Officer.  With the merger with Commander Naval Forces Europe in London, the staffs relocated to Naples, Italy and he assumed duties as the Deputy and then Director of the combined Exercise Planning Group for CNE-C6F until detaching in May 2006.

Commander Boeners military decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, Air Medal with combat V, three Air Medals (Strike/Flight), Air Force Aerial Achievement Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, the Joint Service Achievement Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

Captain John D. Hall III

Capt Hall was born in Knoxville, Tenn., and grew up in Atlanta, Ga. He graduated from the Marine Military Academy, Harlingen, Texas in 1995. Captain Hall was selected to attend the Naval Academy Prep School (NAPS) in Newport, R.I., before attending the United States Naval Academy. He graduated with merit (cum laude) from the USNA in 2000, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. 

Capt Hall was assigned to Echo Company at The Basic School, and after graduation in January 2001 was transferred to Pensacola, Fla.,  for Naval Flight School. After completing API in June of that year, Capt Hall was assigned to VT-27 in Corpus Christi, Texas,  for primary flight training. He next reported to VT-31 and was designated a Naval Aviator in September 2002. 

Capt Hall was assigned to fleet replacement squadron VMGRT-253 flying the KC-130F/R at MCAS Cherry Point, N.C. After completing initial training in the Hercules, he was assigned to VMGR-352 at MCAS Miramar in San Diego, Calif., in December of 2003. Capt Hall served as the Legal Officer, Flight Duty Officer, and Fiscal Officer during his tour at Miramar. In May of 2006 he was selected as the Marine Officer Instructor assigned to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and is currently serving in that capacity. In addition, Capt Hall was accepted to the University of Florida's MBA program and will graduate in the Spring of 2009.
