Flight Courses

Single Engine Track

FA 121 Private Pilot Single Engine 1 Credit
During this course the student obtains the foundation for all future aviation training. The student will receive training in the maneuvers and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the standards contained in the FAA Private Pilot Practical Test Standards. Additionally, the student will receive training in safety awareness, crew resource management, and aeronautical decision-making. At the successful completion of this course the student will have gained the aeronautical experience necessary to apply for an FAA Private Pilot license.

FA 221 Instrument Pilot Single Engine 1 Credit
The student will receive training in the maneuvers and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the standards contained in the FAA Instrument Rating Practical Test Standards. Additionally, the student will receive training in safety awareness, crew resource management, and aeronautical decision-making. At the successful completion of this course the student will have gained the aeronautical experience necessary to apply for the addition of an instrument rating for his/her Private Pilot Certificate.

FA 321 Commercial Pilot Single Engine 1 Credit
Students study charts with flight instructor, preparing for cross-country flightThe student will receive training in the maneuvers and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the standards contained in the FAA Commercial Pilot Practical Test Standards. Additionally, the student will receive training in safety awareness, crew resource management, and aeronautical decision-making. At the successful completion of this course the student will have gained the aeronautical experience necessary to apply for an FAA Commercial Pilot’s License.

FA 323 Commercial Pilot Multi Engine Add-On 1 Credit
The student will receive training in the maneuvers and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the standards contained in the FAA Multi Engine Commercial Pilot Practical Test Standards. Additionally, the student will receive training in safety awareness, crew resource management, and aeronautical decision-making. At the successful completion of this course the student will have gained the aeronautical experience necessary to apply for the addition of a multi engine rating for his/her FAA Commercial Pilot’s License.

Multi-Engine Track

FA 221 Private Pilot Multi Engine Add-On 1 Credit
The student will receive training in the maneuvers and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the standards contained in the FAA Multi Engine Private Pilot Practical Test Standards. Additionally, the student will receive training in safety awareness, crew resource management, and aeronautical decision-making. At the successful completion of this course the student will have gained the aeronautical experience necessary to apply for the addition of a multi engine rating for his/her FAA Private Pilot’s License.

FA 222 Instrument Pilot Multi Engine 1 Credit
The student will receive training in the maneuvers and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the standards contained in the FAA Instrument Rating Practical Test Standards. Additionally, the student will receive training in safety awareness, crew resource management, and aeronautical decision-making. At the successful completion of this course the student will have gained the aeronautical experience necessary to apply for the addition of an instrument rating for his/her Private Pilot Certificate.

FA 322 Commercial Pilot Multi Engine 1 Credit
The student will receive training in the maneuvers and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the standards contained in the FAA Multi Engine Commercial Pilot Practical Test Standards. Additionally, the student will receive training in safety awareness, crew resource management, and aeronautical decision-making. At the successful completion of this course the student will have gained the aeronautical experience necessary to apply for an FAA Multi Engine Commercial Pilot’s License.

FA 326 Commercial Pilot Single Engine Add-On 1 Credit
The student will receive training in the maneuvers and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the standards contained in the FAA Commercial Pilot Practical Test Standards. Additionally, the student will receive training in safety awareness, crew resource management, and aeronautical decision-making. At the successful completion of this course the student will have gained the aeronautical experience necessary to apply for the addition of a single engine rating for his/her FAA Commercial Pilot’s License.

FA 417 (417A417A and 417I) Flight Instructor Rating 3 Credits
The student will receive training in the maneuvers and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the standards contained in the Flight Instructor practical test standards, Single-Engine Land with Instrument Airplane rating. Additionally, the student will receive training in cockpit resource management and safe flying practices. Associated ground instruction will include completion of the Fundamentals of Instruction, the Flight Instructor Airplane and the Flight Instructor Instrument written test.
Prerequisite: FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Single-Engine and Instrument Rating.

Canadair Regional Jet flight training deviceFA 420 Airline Flight Crew Techniques and Procedures 2 Credits
(Optional)
Instruction in airline flight crew operations with emphasis on the transition of the professionally qualified pilot into a highly skilled member of an air carrier flight management team.
Prerequisites: Commercial Pilot Certificate with multiengine/ instrument airplane rating, AS 387, AS 420, AS 435.
