Avionics Line Maintenance Certification at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Learn from the Best

Hands-on training in Avionics Line MaintenanceWhether you already have your Airframe & Powerplant certificate or plan to obtain it at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, you have an opportunity to continue your education with Avionics Line Maintenance Specialization (ALM).

In this four-month certificate program, you'll learn aircraft electronics (avionics) system installation, wiring concepts, line troubleshooting of avionics aircraft problems and prepare to test for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license.

Building upon electrical and electronics training received in the A&P program, you will learn the theories and concepts needed to pass the FCC Radiotelephone Operator License test.

The Avionics Line Maintenance courses are available as part of a Minor Course of Study.  The Minor includes the 12 credit hours of ALM courses, plus 8 additional credit hours of aircraft electrical courses, for a total of 20 credit hours.  The Minor is an excellent addition to the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance Science.

Why ALM?

Students in avionics labEmbry-Riddle's ALM program was designed specifically to provide what the industry needs - aviation maintenance technicians with the knowledge and skills to solve any problem found on modern aircraft.

Applicants with experience on the flight line are often put at the top of the list for employment consideration. Airlines offer higher wages to avionics technicians with an FCC license.

This program is available to all aviation maintenance professionals with an A&P certificate. For more information call (877) 904-3746 or e-mail AMS Admissions at eldri016@erau.edu.
