Hunt Library Web site

Embry-Riddle's Hunt Library provides research tools and assistance to all students, faculty, and staff of the Daytona Beach, Worldwide and Worldwide Online campus communities. Library reading Our libraries hold materials specially selected to support the University's unique mission in higher education. These materials include books, journals, government documents, conference proceedings, videotapes, CD-ROMs, and a historical aviation collection containing items dating back to the late 1800's. Access to these materials is provided through computer catalogs and electronic databases. In addition, both the Daytona Beach and Prescott campus libraries are members of library organizations which allow Embry-Riddle students access to material from thousands of libraries across the nation.

Facilities

The library contains more than 42,000 square feet in a three-level design with seating for 700. In addition to individual study carrels, the building contains small group study rooms and two conversation/leisure reading areas.

Collections

The library has a comprehensive collection of books, periodicals, documents, newspapers, videorecordings, and microforms. Among the library's resources is a historical aviation collection which was donated by the Manufacturer's Aircraft Association (MAA) in 1976. This collection includes a continuous run of Aviation Week and Space Technology dating from 1916 to the present and a complete set of Jane's All the World's Aircraft dating from 1911 to the present.

Services

Circulation: Library check-out privileges are available to all currently enrolled Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University students and employees. Alumni may check out circulating items by presenting a valid Eagle card. Community residents of Volusia County may obtain a community patron library card by filling out an application at the Circulation Desk.

Reference: The Reference Desk is staffed by professional librarians with specialized training in aviation research methodology.

Computer Resources: The Library uses the Voyager integrated system. The online catalog portion is available via the World Wide Web. ERAU students and employees also have access to online databases such as:

The library has 36 full-time employees, 18 professional librarians, and 18 support staff. Approximately 60 student assistants are employed in the library during the academic terms.
