Student Policies and Procedures

Rationale for CSO Policies

Your college education is just one of the many professional accomplishments you will achieve in life. The Career Services Office wants to support you in this initial step towards professional growth. Since we work with a large constituent of students, alumni, employers, faculty, university administrators and community members, the Career Services Office wants to ensure that professionalism is maintained by all parties involved. Our office expects that students treat these constituents with respect and courteousness. Your actions are reflective of you, your peers and the University. We encourage your development towards career success, and we want you to convey professionalism at every step within that development.

CSO Expectations of Students

  • Provide Accurate Information: Students will be expected to submit truthful and accurate application materials
  • Demonstrate Genuine Interest: Students are expected to keep all scheduled advising appointments and on-campus interviews; students are expected to only pursue employment with companies for which they intend to work
  • Professional Conduct: Students are expected to accept offers of employment in good faith and to notify employers of acceptance or non-acceptance of the offer; after accepting a position, students should withdraw their candidacy from all other interviews

CSO Advising Appointments

Students are expected to keep their scheduled appointments and act in a professional manner. If cancellation becomes necessary, students should contact the Career Services Office as soon as they know they will be unable to keep their appointments.

  • Appointment Setting Guidelines
    • Due to the high volume of constituents we serve, students are required to set-up an appointment in advance in order to see their Program Manager
    • An EagleHire Network account is required to set up an appointment
    • Students must bring a copy of their resume to their advisement session OR may upload a resume on the EagleHire Network prior to their advisement session
    • Alumni : one year post graduation and beyond may schedule a maximum of one personal advising session per year
  • Tardiness
    • Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late to their scheduled appointments will be asked to reschedule their appointments
  • No Shows
    • A student who has scheduled an appointment but fails to appear and does not cancel or reschedule in advance will be considered a no show.
    • Students who fail to show to scheduled appointments may lose access to CSO services

CSO-Sponsored Employer On-campus Interviews

Students are expected to keep their scheduled on-campus interviews and act in a professional manner if cancellation becomes necessary. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before a scheduled interview and must be for an acceptable reason.

  • No Shows: A student who misses an on-campus interview must write an apology letter to the employer and submit it to the CSO for delivery
    • Failure to Comply
      • If a student who misses an on-campus interview fails to submit an apology letter, he or she will not be permitted to schedule any further interviews and will no longer be able to apply to opportunities via the EagleHire Network
      • Full access to EagleHire will be reinstated once an apology letter has been submitted

Please Note

  • Students are expected to take personal responsibility for their own job search and communicate with the CSO on a regular basis to take advantage of the programming and resources available
  • Employers make any and all hiring decisions, and the CSO will not influence the selection process
  • CSO provides career opportunities related to ERAU degrees and makes them available to all students and alumni who meet employment eligibility requirements
  • EagleHire Network registration does not guarantee selection or placement
  • The CSO policies and guidelines are a supplement to the University Academic Policies
  • The policies and guidelines outlined by the CSO are subject to change
