2013 Virtual Hiring Event FAQs - Employers
The Virtual Hiring Event is an opportunity for employers to post positions in the EagleHire Network, our online resume referral and job posting system, with maximum exposure. The event is heavily marketed to students and alumni through email blasts, announcements on the EagleHire Network, and through social networking mediums such as LinkedIn, Facebook and our Going Places blog. This ensures that your positions will be viewed by a large number of candidates who may meet the minimum criteria to apply. Employers must register for the event through the EagleHire Network. Registration will be available in early January. Registrants will be contacted with further instructions on how to post jobs to the event. The deadline to submit jobs is Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 5pm EST. The Virtual Hiring Event differs from a virtual career fair in that there are no virtual booths or means for employers and candidates to openly communicate during the event. The event is hosted in the EagleHire Network, our online resume referral and job posting system.
There is no cost to post positions for this event.
If you elect to post positions via form, your company will be limited to a maximum of 20 postings. If you have more than 20 positions you would like included in the event, we suggest linking to the system and posting your own positions -linked employers have the ability to post an unlimited number of opportunities. Only full-time positions which either require a degree may be included in this event. We strongly encourage companies to post both entry-level positions and those which require experience, as our system also includes alumni. Co-op and internship positions will not be included with the Virtual Hiring Event. If you have co-op/internship opportunities that you would like for us to advertise to our students, please visit the Co-op/Internship Information page on our website for employers. Once a year, during the Spring semester. Candidates will be able to preview all positions between 12:00am EST on Saturday, February 9, 2013 and 11:59pm on Sunday , February 10, 2013 prior to the start of the event. All positions will be open for candidates to apply at 12:00am EST on Monday, February 11, 2013. Yes. This event is open to all students and alumni from the Daytona Beach, Prescott, and Worldwide campuses. Embry-Riddle alumni have access to the Career Services Office for life, therefore all levels of experience are represented in our system. From candidates looking for an entry-level position and beyond to those individuals with a few years to many years of experience. For a list of degree programs our university offers, please click here. Our office defines "entry-level" as 0-2 years of experience, "mid-career" as 3-7 years of experience, and "experienced" as more than 7 years of experience. Employers will need to have all positions submitted to Career Services by 5pm EST on Wednesday, February 6, 2013. First, be sure to label your job title in a way that accurately reflects the responsibilities of the position. Additionally, try to include as much information as possible to make the position attractive to job seekers, such as salary and benefits information, opportunities for growth and travel, etc. A thorough job description is also very helpful, as well as clear instructions on how candidates should apply (i.e., if they are to apply through your company website, it is very helpful to either provide a position reference number or the direct link to the posting). We recommend that you be very clear when describing the candidate requirements. Even if the position is obviously meant for someone with many years of experience, it is very helpful to include the minimum education and experience that you are willing to consider. This depends on how you indicate you would like to receive resumes. If you want candidates routed to your company website, you will receive resumes through your company's system as they come in. If you indicate an email address that you would like resumes sent to, you will receive all resumes in a .pdf bundle on Friday morning, February 22, 2013. We will be happy to re-post your position in the system. There is never a charge to post positions through the Embry-Riddle Career Services Office. Please send your request to dbeaghir@erau.edu. If you are linked to the system, you may re-post your own positions at any time.
The next Virtual Hiring Event will be held in Spring 2013. Employers are invited to come to campus to recruit throughout the year or attend our Industry/Career Expo, which will be held October 4, 2012 at the Prescott, AZ campus and October 10, 2012 at the Daytona Beach campus. Additionally, employers may post positions in the EagleHire Network at any time at no charge. Please contact dbeaghir@erau.edu if you have additional questions before, during, or after the event. |
