Mr. Jim W. Henderson was elected to the Board of Trustees of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in February 2003. Jim serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and is Chair of the Compensation and Executive committees. He is also a member of the Committee on Trustees, Audit, and Investment committees.

Jim is Vice Chairman and COO of Brown & Brown and has regional responsibilities for the Company's Services Division and for a portion of the Brokerage Division operations. A graduate of Florida State University, BS and BA Accounting, he was an Audit Supervisor with Ernst & Whinney and then Senior Vice President and Treasurer of the Ormond Reinsurance Group. Jim joined Brown & Brown as Chief Financial Officer in 1985. He has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations.

Jim serves as a member of Brown & Brown's Board of Directors, and on the company's Executive and Acquisition Committees. In addition to his myriad of managerial responsibilities, he personally maintains a portfolio of commercial accounts that generate in excess of $1,000,000 in revenue annually.

Jim serves on the Advisory Board of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, is Co-Chairman of the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association Property & Casualty Committee, and President of the Financial Executive's Institute of Central Florida. He is also on the Board of the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund, and the Business School Advisory Board of Stetson University. On the civic side, Jim's involvement has included Director of the United Way of Volusia County, Board of Directors - Ronald McDonald House, and he is a former Outstanding Jaycee of the Orlando Jaycees.
