Office of the President
2011 Presidential Report
To Our Embry-Riddle Friends
Welcome to the world's largest aeronautical university, where we all share a passion for aviation and aerospace, the world's most exciting industry.
Embry-Riddle's founding dates back almost to the era of the Wright brothers. Over the decades we've evolved into the global leader in aviation and aerospace education, provided through our residential campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Prescott, Arizona, through our many Worldwide Campus locations in the United States, Europe, Asia, Canada, and the Middle East, and through online learning.
We teach nearly every aspect of aviation, aerospace, engineering, and related fields, engaging students in real-world applied research that prepares them for productive careers and leadership roles in service around the world. Read Embry-Riddle Mission.
Embry-Riddle is a dynamic institution, constantly evolving to meet the needs of our students and our industry. Thanks to this forward-looking approach, the vast majority of our 100,000 alumni have found rewarding and fulfilling careers.
I'm very proud of the achievements of the Embry-Riddle community, and I’d like to share a few of them with you:
- Five current astronauts and one former astronaut are Embry-Riddle alumni.
- Twenty percent of all professional pilots in the United States are Embry-Riddle alumni.
- Embry-Riddle’s undergraduate aerospace engineering program is ranked No. 1 by a prominent annual guide to the nation’s colleges.
Here at the Office of the President website you’ll find information on Embry-Riddle’s Senior Leadership and Academic Leadership, the dedicated administrators who lead our university.
You can also read about some of my special projects, such as the Safety Culture that has resulted in one of Embry-Riddle’s safest periods of flight operations; Diversity Initiatives that make Embry-Riddle a friendly, inclusive place for all of our students, faculty, and staff; and the annual President's Speaker Series, town hall forums featuring prominent speakers focusing on topics in the public interest.
Again, welcome to an exciting university and to the Embry-Riddle experience. If you need assistance, please feel free to contact Office of the President staff.
