Mr. Smith is committed to strengthening the already excellent credit course offerings that are provided through the Worldwide Campus at more than 130 locations in the United States and Europe. His goals are to aggressively pursue the important market in non-credit education and to establish Embry-Riddle as the premier provider of such services to the aviation and aerospace industry; to excel in student services; and to achieve continuous improvement in academic programs and the quality of delivery through the use of the latest technologies.

Mr. Smith previously served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Embry-Riddle with responsibility for all strategic information technology initiatives, projects, and organizations for all Worldwide Campus locations and the residential campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Prescott, Arizona. He has been with Embry-Riddle for more than seven years.

Mr. Smith has more than 25 years of experience in higher education, including senior management positions at the University of Massachusetts system and Boston College. He also has experience in private business and has been a teacher and consultant. He holds a master's degree in business administration and a bachelor of business administration degree in quantitative methods.
