Daniel (Dan) Montplaisir serves as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. In this role he is responsible for developing internal and external relationships that support the university's goals and mission. Areas under his leadership include the Offices of Alumni Relations, University Development, Annual Fund, and the Department of Marketing and Communications.

Dan has a strong personal commitment to higher education advancement, having served previously at the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business and the University of Central Florida. In addition, he represented his fraternal organization, the Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation, in a number of staff positions including chief development officer.

Montplaisir earned a master of science in management at Indiana Wesleyan University and a bachelor's degree in liberal studies at the University of Central Florida. Since 2000, Dan has held the professional credential of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). In the local community, Dan is a member of the Daytona Beach Rotary Club and Tomoka Christian Church, as well as the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP) and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

Embry-Riddle completed its first comprehensive capital campaign in December 2008, raising more than $65 million. The "TO SOAR" campaign was a focused fund raising effort to expand educational opportunities through student scholarships, increased support for faculty research, and the enhancement of student facilities with new buildings and improvements to technology infrastructure. As a nationally ranked and privately funded university, Embry-Riddle has a strong reliance on private philanthropy from alumni, friends, and corporate partners.
